گل نہیں مہکے، نظر ماہ و مہر پائی نہیں
تیرے آنچل کا ہے لہرانا بہار آ جانا
کون سی شے ہے جو چھو کر تجھے ہرشائی نہیں

Tujh se kisne yeh kahaa hai ki bahaar aayee naheen,
Gul naheen mahke, nazar maah-o-meher paayee naheen
Tere aanchal kaa hai lahraanaa bahaar aa jaanaa,
Kaun see shai hai jo chhoo kar tujhe harshayee naheen
English translation
Who has told you that the spring has not yet arrived
That the flowers aren’t fragrant, that sight has not been blessed by the Sun and the Moon
The flutter of your hem is the harbinger of spring
There is nothing that has touched you and not blossomed into joy.
